This clinic is part of a national American Federation of Teachers program to help educators struggling with student debt. The clinic is free, just under two hours typically, and has been saving faculty a shocking $300/month on average. We will be talking about free government programs including a couple many folks are probably familiar with (like the Income Based Repayment programs launched in the last 10 years), as well as programs that many folks are not aware of and which are nationally underutilized (including a brand new IBR program, and a debt forgiveness program available to faculty). We've been encouraging folks with student loan debt to come out even if they think they know everything there is to know, because many will leave with lower monthly payments.
